{shekaste nastaliq font} {shekaste nastaliq font} is a free Unicode-compliant Nasta’liq script virtual keyboard software application. It supports the "on screen" typing from your physical keyboard, mouse, or by using {taghgīdīn}. The program's input method is based on the Inscript layout for typing in Arabic, Urdu and Persian languages. {taghgīdīn} includes a set of characters from all these languages which you can use to type in other languages as well. The software makes use of various fonts files (.ttf) for this purpose and each language has its own set of fonts. Hence, you can select any font for your language of choice. {shekaste nastaliq} has four types of fonts; Arabic, Urdu, Persian and others. The virtual keyboard has some special keys like Tab/Shift (to insert Tab into the text), Copy (to copy the characters in the textbox), Undo (to undo what you have typed), Next (to switch to next textbox), Previous (t o switch back to the previous text box) and Clear (to clear all text boxes). You can use these keys or insert keystrokes through {taghgīdīn} which will trigger special actions depending upon the mode you are in. The text in the text boxes in {shekaste nastaliq} works similar to word processors’ {word wrap}. That means if you type more than the width of the text box, the text will automatically get wrapped to fit inside. The software has 6 modes which you can switch between by pressing F6. These are Standard, Transliteration, Querying, Tagging, Editing and Select. You can even use predefined shortcuts for switching between these modes. After installing the software on your computer just press F6 to switch between modes. Or use Control+Number keys combinations for this purpose. Standard Mode is used for typing in Arabic, Persian and Urdu scripts. The keys on the keyboard has different functions depending upon the language you are typing in. For example, if {shekaste nastaliq} is in Standard mode and it knows that you are typing in Urdu, pressing space bar will produce a ligature instead of a space character. In this mode, typing from your physical keyboard produces characters which you can see on screen as well. In other words, it acts as a simple word processor allowing you to type text which appears on the screen. For example: {taghgīdīn} is last resort when no character exists for a keystroke combination you have typed. For example, if you are typing {ā} in Persian keyboard the programme will produce the āng. Querying Mode is used to type in scripts like Balochi, Brahui, Xibe, Chechen, Farsi (Official), Kashmiri (Official), Urdu (Official), Arabic (ISO), etc. For example: The software can be downloaded from its official website at http://www.shekaste-nastaliq.com/. http://www.shekaste-nastaliq.com/Downloads/ Shekaste Nastaliq 9. cfa1e77820
